First, thank you for subscribing to my work. Your support is deeply appreciated. Your subscribes and shares inspire me to continue evolving my writing and how I reach people.
You’ll notice that this post is coming to you under a new moniker.
Here’s why…
In the past two years, I have found myself in places a younger me could never have envisioned: beneath a canopies of ancient trees, wrapped in the chill of a glacier-fed rivers, and discovering a version of joy I didn’t know existed. I have spent whatever free-time I could carve out — rain or shine — in the woods convening with plants and nature. I’ve never been so cold, so wet…or so happy.
In my 30s, I was laser-focused on the corporate ladder, driven by a vision of reaching the C-suite. And then I turned 40.
On an island in the PNW, underneath giant douglas firs, I realized that climbing someone else’s ladder wasn’t what I wanted. As clear as day, a voice echoed out from the forest and said “You are meant for other things”. You can call it fate, or karma, or divine inspiration — all of those are probably correct — but I knew in that instant life was going to take a hard right turn.
And it did.
Since that moment, I’ve dedicated my life to learning everything I can about plant medicine and our relationship to nature.
Learning to tune into the creative, powerful force that underpins all life, and is accessible to us if we listen.
Connecting with the deep wisdom that exists in the ground, and is made whole in the plants that surround us.
Cultivating respect and awe for the gifts we are given— to live on this planet surrounded by abundant energy which is there to be experienced with joy.
So in December I made the choice to leave the corporate ladder behind, and give my full attention to building something new.
Slow Fox Life, and my work, is a direct reflection of what I hope to create in this world: to help people build more balanced and joy-centered lives, rooted in the knowledge that joy is always seeking our attention and that we are worthy of receiving it.
So. Thank you for being part of this journey. I’ll continue to post my monthly(ish) essays, while also testing out new content, so stay tuned for more!
